Segment 1 Famous Quotations
“The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don’t know anything about.” ~ Wayne Dyer
“By letting it go it all gets done. The world is won by those who let it go. But when you try and try…the world is beyond winning.” ~ Lao Tzu
Segment 2 The Secret of Socrates
Socrates, a great philosopher, lived 25 centuries ago, yet his wise teachings are still studied today.
The “Socratic Method” is a method based on getting a “yes” response from those we are talking to or dealing with, whether it is a business associate, client, tenant, boss, neighbor, family, etc…
Socrates would ask questions his “opponent” would have to agree with. He would continue asking questions that were certain to get a “yes” until everyone was in agreement.
This method requires one to park his/her ego at the door and think deeper rather than respond with emotion.
Today, we discuss this method and other helpful suggestions when:
- Dealing with disagreements that could turn into arguments
- Negotiating for something you want.
Segment 3 Heart Topic: Things to Give Up, To Be Happy
One of our friends posted this on her Facebook page last week: 15 Things To Give Up To Be Happy and she found this article at www.purposefairy.com
Here are a few of the ideas, but visit www.purposefairy.com for the complete list:
- Give up your need to always be right
- Give up your need for control
- Give up your limiting beliefs
- Give up the luxury of criticism
Our question this week is: How much does your life matter? We want you to know that YOU matter and living life fully is what our show is about today. Enjoy your day!
Until next week, Peace!

Connie, your comment on giving people credit for being out there and doing it, instead of criticizing clicked with me. Thanks.
I do believe we are here to make mistakes, not much to learn from doing it right.
Great food for thought. Episod 95 was super practical and universally applicable. By the time I went to bed last night, I had been in 4 conversations in which I said, “you know that reminds me of a podcast I listened to this morning…” Thanks and keep up the great work.
Britt, thanks so much for your comment. Yes, life is about making mistakes and learning from each one. We found we learn more when we look for solutions instead of staying stuck in the problem. Thanks for listening and thanks even more for leaving a comment.
Clear the hurdle,
Connie & Sheila
Dear David:
Your comment made me smile. So glad our words meant something to you that day. We find listening to “super practical and universally applicable” words of wisdom like those of Socrates and Carnegie to be timeless and educational. We can always depend on them for wise counsel.
“People wont remember what you said but they will remember the way you made them feel”
LOL, this is so true right now. It’s 3am, can’t sleep, so I came here to have a good listen.
Well it’s so late in the night that I probably won’t remember what you ladies said, but I will remember how you made me feel
I’m feeling great now! As always ladies, awesome podcast episode. Thank you…
Joey:
We can always count on you to make us feel good. Not so glad you couldn’t sleep, but so glad you enjoyed the show. Too much stuff running through that head of yours for you to calm your brain down long enough to sleep. Keep up the good work.
Cheers,
C&S
How come you dont have your site viewable in wap format? cant see anything in my iPhone.
Not sure what wap format is, but I can view and play each episode on my iPhone. I don’t know what to tell you that you need. We’re not real tech savvy, but your iPhone is missing something since ours works fine.
Hope you can get that figured out. Again, wish we could help!
Cheers,
